UI design AI.Your agents draw the interface, in the file.

UI design AI means an agent writes HTML and CSS into the shared file, not a chat about a mockup and not a picture of a screen. Kite is the canvas. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client draws while your team edits the same frames. There is no separate design model to pay for.

How an agent designs UI.

Open a file, connect a client, hand it the design system, then the first edit and a comment.

  1. 1. Open a file

Start a file, or ask the agent to make one. It works with your rights: it can open and change what you can, and nothing else. The team sees the work live, and can edit it straight after.

  2. 2. Connect an MCP client

You connect each tool once. Settings → Agents, the file menu, or Ask your agent on a new file. Most tools take a click, then you allow access. There is no key to copy. The hosted server takes any agent from anywhere, with OAuth. Kite for Mac runs a local server for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Claude, with nothing to sign in to.

  3. 3. Give it the design system

Before it draws, the agent reads the file's variables, styles and skills, and writes var(--name), including light and dark modes. A file with no design system gets the agent's own choices. Choose one in Assets, or ask the agent to make one.

  4. 4. Ask for the first edit

Ask in the agent's own app, the way you already talk to it. Name the file, or select a frame so "this" means that frame. It draws piece by piece. The frame glows, a pill names who is designing, and the layers are ordinary layers you can change or undo. Agents have 43 tools to read, draw, edit and check their own work.

  5. 5. Hand it a job from a comment

Pin a comment on the frame and type @ to mention your agent. It reads the comment, the frame and the layer you clicked. The thread shows Waiting for, then is working, then Done by. In a browser the request waits until you tell the agent "do my Kite requests" in its own app.

Not a picture generator.

These four generate a screen and meter it. Kite keeps the agent in the file. Cells are their own docs, as of October 2026.

Short answers.

What UI design AI is, which agents, and whether you pay twice.

What is UI design AI?

UI design AI is an agent that writes the interface into the shared file. In Kite it writes real HTML and CSS on the canvas your team edits, and you watch the work land. It is not a chat that describes a mockup, and it is not a generator that hands you a picture of a screen.

Which agents can design UI in Kite?

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex and any other MCP client. They use the hosted server, signing in with OAuth, or the local server in Kite for Mac. Each client's steps are in the docs.

Do I pay twice?

No. Kite has no model of its own and no AI credits. Your agent runs on the plan you already pay for. Uizard counts generations, Google Stitch has a daily credit limit, and Wonder charges $20 of AI tokens a seat each month. Those are separate meters. Kite does not add one.

Questions.

UI design AI, agents and MCP.

How do I connect an agent?

Settings → Agents, or Connect an agent in the file menu. Pick the tool and allow access. There is no key to copy. Kite for Mac adds Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Claude in one click, on a local server. The hosted server is for any MCP client, from anywhere, with OAuth.

Can an agent follow our design system?

Yes. It reads the file's variables, styles and skills before it draws, and writes var(--name) rather than one-off values, including modes such as light and dark. With Build with components on, a part that repeats is drawn once as a component and copied.

How does a job from a comment work?

Pin the comment where the change belongs and mention your agent with @. The comment shows Waiting for, then is working, then Done by. The agent reads the comment and the frame. In a browser, tell it "do my Kite requests" in its own app and it works through every request waiting for it.

How is this different from a prompt-to-UI tool?

A prompt-to-UI tool generates a screen and meters that generation. Uizard's own AI cannot be swapped for yours, and free is 3 generations a month. Google Stitch has agents prompt Gemini, with a daily credit limit. Wonder's vectors are AI-made SVGs with no point editing, plus $20 of tokens a seat. In Kite the agent keeps editing the same HTML and CSS, next to your team, with no AI credits.

How much does Kite cost?

Free to start: unlimited editors and viewers, one workspace with 3 files, and 200 agent actions a day. Pro is $20 per editor a month, or $16 billed yearly. Team is $35, or $28 billed yearly. No AI credits: your agent runs on the plan you already pay for.

You and your agents,on one board.

In your browser, or in Kite for Mac. Bring the agent you already use.
